Joe Malnar is a driven operations leader with a passion for enabling organizations that serve seniors and their families. With more than five years of experience working across healthcare and senior services, Joe has partnered with health plans, Area Agencies on Aging, Care Coordination Units, and other community-based organizations to design and deliver innovative solutions that expand access to resources, strengthen caregiver support, and improve social determinants of health for older adults.

As Director of Operations at Vela Health, Joe empowers partner organizations to deliver care effectively and efficiently—guiding them through go-live onboarding, building scalable playbooks and resources, and translating complex operational needs into clear, actionable plans. His career has spanned progressive leadership roles where he has negotiated partnerships with health systems and health plans, built repeatable systems, and led initiatives that connect caregivers and families with the services they need.

Joe is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Missouri. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with friends and family—especially his nieces, nephews, and siblings as the youngest of five. He's an avid sports fan and can often be found cheering on Mizzou basketball and football.
