Jeff Ryan brings over 3 decades of healthcare leadership experience to Vela Health. Initially practicing as a clinician, he has gone on to successfully lead organizations as a COO, SVP of Finance, and as CEO. His clinical background and leadership experience provide a unique perspective to drive excellence in clinical care, a culture of care and caring, patient and provider satisfaction, as well as sustainable growth and operations.

He has held leadership positions at Hahnemann University Hospital including as COO of the physician practice plan, he was the lead for both operations and finance at Cancer Treatment Centers of America – Philadelphia and most recently served as CEO of Legacy Healthcare Services where he lead a team to double the amount of senior living communities served in a 5 year period.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education from Temple University, a Master of Physical Therapy from Hahnemann University, and a Master of Business Administration from Johns Hopkins University. He has co-authored two textbooks, numerous textbook chapters, seven research publications and has given over two hundred presentations on clinical care and leadership.

Jeff, along with his wife Tafie enjoys living on the coast of North Carolina with their large extended family, friends, and menagerie of pets enjoying all that coastal living has to offer.
